SX 440 1 of 60 made?

Alrighty...the long awaited pix! I think this is the sled we're talkin' about here. I think for the most part this baby could be at least put back in working order. Paint the hood blue again and this could be an intersting piece. Get rich??? I doubt it. I know guys that have the super rare Phantom Jets and they can't get the money they want for them in good shape. This thing is worth quite a bit less, in all likelyhood. BUT, I'd make sure and get some good SRX parts for it if you let it go.

that looks like the 75 style hood IE not the correct one. motor doesnt matter much its just a 74 gpx motor that was used. if you dont have the tank shround i would not trade you anything for it. tank shroud is unique and essential for a restore.

alright there tough guy. im simply saying the sled will be unrestorable and of little value if you dont have the correct parts. thats good you have the shroud.

Children please! LOL :R

Seriously, if you have the dash (is that it in the background) it still looks like this sled can be done. I've found hoods for much rarer sleds, I'm sure somebody could make it if need be. Maybe one of the Sno Jet boys could post a pic of a 75 SST and a SX so we can see the differnce.

Hey, JakeCat....One that that catches my eye in your pix is that seat setting on that F/A Arctic Cat in the background. The one with the high back and the green pin stripe. Does this seat have a snap strip on the bottom so it can button on the side of the tunnel? Or does it have a wood frame so it will bolt to the top of the tunnel, with no snaps on the side??????

No, 74 Sno Pro. All the Cat Sno pros from 74-77 didn't have snapstrips, all the rest did (that I know of). So when I saw that seat with no snap strip, I thought I may found something I might need someday! I have seen a pic of a 74 Sno Pro with a 73 EXT seat on Thompson's 440 at Eagle River, it doesn't appear to have snaps. For what reason? I don't know. But I've also seen a 74 Sno Pro (ish) seat on Thompson's 73 EXT, it didn't have the snap strip either...So whenever I see a seat that bolts to the top of the tunnel, I check into it!

If you have best of Sno Pro '73-'78 check out some of the pix, you'll see what I'm talkin' about.
