Please help with '81 Ski-doo Everest

Postby gopack36 » January 9th, 2002, 1:12 am

Hello, This is my first post.

I have an 81 Ski-doo Everest L/C with the 464 Rotax engine. I am having a hard time finding any kind of service/parts manual for it. I need to find out what the torque requirements are for the Cylinder and head bolts. Anyone have any Ideas? Does anyone have the same sled that might be good for parts that I could buy?? Anyone know where a good place to buy parts for it over the internet?? Any reply would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

not sure buy on the 71 doo's it was 18lbs
i'd assume 16 would be a good guess but not sure
and you should probably cross-torque the head bolts whe u do tighten em

OK,

First of all thank you for the help. I finally found a book with all the info in it!! The correct torque is 16ft-lbs. The only book with any info for sleds made in the early 80's by skidoo and motoski is called "Snowmobile: Service manual" and is published by Intertec. I will include a link that you can follow to read what the book covers! It actually covers a ton of sleds and is over 500 pages.

I actually am working on this sled for a friend of mine. My local library had the 10th edition of this book and it had everything in it with all the torque specs and exploded views and even all the carb settings!! This is an awesome book and a must have for people that work on these older sleds! Thanks again for the help everyone!
