I have been told that the thrid Cylinder in triples have the tendency to blow. Is this true.

False. Any cylinder will "blow" if there is something wrong in that area. The PTO cylinder on any two or more cylinder engine is more open to issues because of the crank seal being exposed to the elements and that end of the crank has to take the brunt of the load. But all things being equal (and to spec.), there is no correlation between cylinder/piston failure and the position of the cylinder.

I was told it would happen if i trail ride alot and not going fast all the time it would cause problems with the cylinder or piston.

What fool told you that? Don't listen to him ever again. If anything ... the middle cylinder is more suseptable. I actually run 1 size larger jet in the middle cylinder 430's on the outside two and 440's in the middle. EGT gagues are a great thing. I would have never picked that up without them.

I was looking to buy my friends 97 zrt 800 triple. He Just had all the seals and A track replaced. And its been ,modified buy the local artic cat dealer. The sled is mint after riding it i had s.h.i.t stains in my underware, Fast (very fast). I was told by my neignbor and my uncle that if i was to trail ride with it offten i would end up with problems. I didn't think this was true. I have Other friens that have a 96 ski-doo formula 3 and a 99 zr 700 and they never had problems.

False!! Don't use the 99 zr as a example, it's a twin not a triple.
