Is there a certain milage you should replace a chain on a polaris snowmobile? I got 5000 miles on mine now and thinking it might be time before it breaks.

If your checking it, pull it out and see if it is loose or worn or ony links are broken or damaged. If it is replace it.

If it doesn't appear to be in bad shape, it may not be a bad idea to replace it anyway, since it is a cheap sense of security and you have already done the hard part with it already apart. If it breaks it gets spensive.

I have 13,000 miles on the original. 02' XC700
Oil would be cheaper if the greenies stopped using it.

I'd replace it. They're around $85-$100 its worth not getting stranded! Plus If it breacks it could take out your chaincase and thats another $100-$200.
