greg, with all do respect i believe there are some other factors that come into play with the early stages of this class not growing the way it should.. in the beginning all the peolpe with 440 stockers ran the class( me,behn, beres, duchene) while some built the new chassis.. you could tell that first year while the stockers one the points title that year, the new chassis that were being built were definetly the way to go.. so the next couple seasons happen and all the stockers fall away so numbers dip while people start building really competitive chassis and some step back to see how the class will evolve..alot of great drivers were running this class and then economy turned south and took a bite, drivers pursued other interests and here we have it.. this class is a great class and the time is now to capaitalize on the popularity from this last season to get some new blood flowing and id hate too see it fall away cause of certain changes that hamper class devolpement.. i do agree some thing needs to be done to help grow the class so lets look into ways that keep the numbers growing and the cost down... like jerry said, not everyone wants to race champ class.. just my 2 cents..
