Ski doo's handling is not as precise as Polaris'. Also, Polaris' ski lift is more controlable.

QUARTER MILE!

Postby zrcat » June 3rd, 2001, 10:23 pm

From a couple of articles and comparisons I have read, DOO is said to have the most precise T-arm front end. Let's see, at least CAT gives you some HP numbers...Polar-puss doesn't. Let's just take a look at where the factories bring all thier best and money and go head-to-head....WSA. All I've ever seen is green and yellow....Red is ALWAYS BROKEN and that is a modified sled. Scares the hell out of me what a consumer is getting!! BTW, I've owned all the polaris's I'll ever own. I'll never buy that kind of junk again...

Polaris doesn't need to give the numbers out. They know that all of the snowmobile mags are just going to dyno them and release them anyways. First look at Polaris', then look at Cat's, then go to cats webpage and see how much they over "estimated". I also happen to have sources at Polaris that have personally told me.

And BTW NortherSkunk, I have been in races. On a local holiday a radar run was held. I took second in my class to a guy that had the same sled. Together we posted times that were better than many, many 600's.

Right on alevasseur14, what exactly were your speeds? And what exactly did your sources from the factory tell you? Was it the horsepower thing or did you stop typing?
Na i'm done with you, your to much of an ass for me!

Your on a need to know basis and since you never come out here you don't need to know....

Who was the guy that finished in first? I know a couple of guys that race Polaris around that area, so I just thought I would check. Anyways, good job with that second and good luck in the future.

QUARTER MILE!

Postby alevasseur14 » June 5th, 2001, 8:58 am

it was a 1000 feet and in that time i posted a 84.7 mph and the guy who beat me posted a 85.1. i didn't lose to him by much. my sources at polaris told me the 2000 500 variable exhaust makes around 105. that's what all the snowmobile magazines have dynoed it at too.

BTW Snowballz - i do like to go fast. i was doing about 100 and blew right by a cop on a sled. he tried to stop me but i just kept on goin! i didn't see him but he told me about it later.
