01 Edge X 600

Does anyone have any comments (good or bad) on this sled? I am considering buying a used one and would appreciate any feedback you guys may have. Performance and handling are my points of particular interest. Thanks.

I have one of these sleds and I love it. I went from a 96 storm to a 600 and I am not disappointed at all. The X will not out run the storm on a lake but through the trails the X is an awesome ride. I did have one problem with it though, the bolt that holds the bottom gear in the chain case on broke. The head of the bolt then got inbetween the gear and the chain and broke the chain. I have heard of this with other Polaris sleds and not just on a 01 edge X. I would recommend getting one, it is the best sled I have driven.

They're heavy and ride real soft. The power is good and stability is better than my MXZ.

Great sled, very quick and handles well. I just got rid of mine, NEVER had a problem with it! (bought an f7)

They rip, no problems with this sled here. Ride great in the trails, smooth. Great power in this sled.

Get the sled, you won't regret it. I can say any thing bad about mine.

Does it have the edge suspension or the m-10 ?

It has the edge suspension. Fox shocks all around.

I had the same problem as redX. Kept hearing the noise of the bolt head getting caught in the chain and had no idea what it was. Thought I had ice in my tunnel. What do I kno? Finally the chain broke in the middle of Gods Country at 11pm, at that point I was ready to toss the sled off the bank. A long tow ride out of the park, we were in St.Donat, The only other problem I have had is some overheating. It has more power and pick up than I ever use, but my husband who is "ski-doo loyal" really likes this particular Polaris. I just thought you would be intersted in knowing about the chain case problem. Its a hot sled!
