Any news from the Tug Hill Freezin' Ride???

Must be some frozen riders, heard it was pretty cold down there with the wind chills. Cold as a biotch up here, went riding tonight and it was -4 F, -23 windchill factor. Sleds were running great but we hit every stop to warm up a little. Up trails are flat as pancakes right now.

Thanks zert for reminding me that I'm not there lol. I heard tomorrow night where I live its going to be -9 with a wind chill factor of -30. And I live in southern NY and I know its going to be a hell of a lot colder on the hill.

Riggs said that Picklechick's friend got frostbite on her face pretty bad, was just wondering how everything was going. Sounds like the weather didn't cooperate with the riding plans this year. Riding in extreme cold temps is something you have to be used to doing, otherwise it makes for a miserable experience and sometimes makes it dangerous for those who don't have the proper gear for it. Last year Hockeygirl froze her mug up here.

My friend just got back from a ride last weekend up there and he said when he took his helmet off he had frostbite all over his face. I have to ride with at least 5 layers on, I look like the Michelin man when I'm all dressed. Hope they all bundle up, its going to be a cold, cold ride.

Yeah, its really cold on the hill..plus add 40mph to 50mph....60+ in the straights i couldnt even swallow lol (frost bite sucks)!....later

I was at Tug Hill this weekend. It was -28* at 8:30am. Anyway, I was tying my boots, obviously without gloves on, and got some minor frostbite on my thumbs. Its still a bit numb 5 days later, but it is getting better. Anyone ever experience anything similiar before?

Weather for the weekend will be perfect... 10 to 15 degrees.. As of right now the temps are wicked brrrrrrrr.

Watertown (a little off the Northwest corner of the Hill) was -33 yesterday am. We've been down to -22 yesterday am(north of Howe Caverns) and tonight we are supposed to have -50 below in wind chill tonight.
Neat thing about the RX's...got all that nice warm exhaust coming out both tips...great for quick warming hands, etc. with no smell.:)
