Four Stroke Sleds

Does anybody on here have one or know anything about them? Looking at the Polaris FST or FS and just wanted to know if any good things can be said about them or should I stick with the 2-strokes?

While many will disageree with me, 4-Stoke is the wave of the future. Wife and I have had 30+ 2-strokes. We got our first 4-stroke when Cat came out with them. Then moved up to Yamaha a couple years ago. We have our second Yamaha 4-stroke.

If I was to go with a Polaris, I would encourage you to look at the FST or the FS. Polaris has had a lot of experience with 4-stroke ATV's. Ironically my Polaris dealer sold me on moving from a 2-stroke Polaris ATV to a 4-stroke Polaris ATV.

Before the Anti-4 Stroke people jump in with "An ATV is different then a Snowmobile..." Most will acknowledge that the Sport ATV and Dirt Bike Industry is moving away from 2-strokes to 4-strokes.

Think about the longevity of a 4-stroke over a 2-stroke. Think about not ever having to fill up your 2-stroke oil tank. Think about the improved gas mileage. In the long run, it's 4-strokes that will be the only sleds allowed on much our publicly owned land.

One thing that may be a concern is I've read that the Polaris 4-stroke sleds have alot of heat down towards the runningboards where you place your feet.

If you have a chance,try to demo ride some (of any brand).

I have a Yamaha 4-stroke (Apex) and never regret going away from the 2-strokes!!

Depending on mileage that you ride, valve adjustment intervals on the Yamahas is at 26,000 miles where I believe the Polaris is much lower, such as around 6,000.

Not to knock Polaris-had several, but Yamaha really is the front runner in the 4-stroke sleds!

Another thing, may want to see what is offered in the 2008 models as info on them should be coming in another month or so.

Four stroke sleds rock ! I love my Apex. If your in the market for a 4 stroke, I would consider looking at the Yamaha's, they have the MOST technology out of any manufacturer hands down. The Vector, Apex, and Phazer are all great sleds. Here is a pic of mine.

I have always been a Polaris fan - but if your looking at 4-strokes - your better off going to the Yammi Apex's.

I'm not talking the heat from the heat exchangers that are below the running boards, this is engine heat-people complained of it getting uncomfortably hot.

For the cost of a new sled, make a wise decision.
