Ewing out for the season

Postby CatBoy09 » January 20th, 2009, 4:03 am

Mike Kloety from Arctic Cat just received a call from Mr. Hoglund saying that Cory will not be finishing the year on his race sled. With the severe damage to his brain stem that they found Monday evening and with his short-term memory problems he is having, he will not be able to continue until fully healed. Cory will be looking for a young replacement driver that he can tutor. The #77 Arctic Cat Champ will be back on the track again in Forest Lake, MN.

Well there are a few out there Cory if you see this.

Hope your doing well and recover fast, I wasnt there but brother and dad were. I hate to hear about accidents like this and hurt drivers. Heal quick buddy, I know you prob hate the fact you cant race, but its better to heal up and be 100% again than to take chances and maybe injure yourself more.

A few drivers out there i can think of,

Mike Poach although not sure if he will be riding Rydeens sled the rest of the season or a sled of his.

Erik Peterson?? Chris Broermann?? I am sure my brother would even do it would be interesting

Broermann was smokin fast last year until unfortunate circumstances destroyed his sled. I know they are building a sled but it is unclear if it will be ready this season.
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

Chit, I could win this!

Sorry to hear that news for Cory and the 77 team. I too think Chris Broermann would be one heck of a substitute.

I agree Chris would be a great sub, also his dad is one hell of a mechanic.

I'd also consider Adam Meihls if he isn't running his own sled.

Chris would be a great fill-in. The sled is either going to be driven by a driver of our choice or it just might sit until I am healthy. Robert never envisioned anyone else running it and he feels the best driver for it is the original driver. But, in my disagreeing opinion, I feel we need to fill the spot for the remainder of the year. Whoever does fill it, will have a great opportunity to succeed. With the Wrazidlo brothers, Matt Maurer and Myself making the sled go, I feel the #77 Hoglund Racing Champ will be a top competitor anytime it hits the ice.

i personally think if mike poach had a chance to ride 77's champ he would be a top contender for the rest of the season. i know he doesnt have a sled of his own, but for not racing in 3 years and only having an hour of testing and a weeks notice to prepare for eagle river. he did an exceptional job. making it into the wc and having the single fastest lap time in qualifying
