Hopefully you found out why the other motor let go. If it was in the oil pump , or leaned out too far one the carbs, You might want to check the throttle safety switches in the throttle if it starts and dont stay running at idle. Did you check the exhaust system to make sure a mouse didn't nest in there this summer ? Good luck !!

the sled is a 95 xcr 600 .Is there a ground wire i'm missing?
Like i said we have been all over this thing it acts like it
runs out of fuel or spark . If you let it set it will start.
and do the same thing.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me, if it were electrical I don't think it would start again after just sitting for awhile. How did you check the fuel pump? Try the old one and see if it changes anything.

Could it be another bent crank cause my 92 indy 650 was doing the same thing and it was the crank that was the problem

95 polaris will not stay running

When you say you bought a new motor, what did you get? What stayed with the sled? Ignition? Fuel tank? Stator plate? Carbs/pump; It could be something as simple as a line in the tank sucking something up after a few minutes. Then letting go after it shuts off. I have seen exhaust pipes with broken pieces inside(power valve) that plug up under load, when it quits, the debris falls off, and its like nothing was wrong.

If it were plug wires it prob. would not start right back up. Since I wrote I have taken the gas tank out and cleaned out and I am going to try to replace the fuel pump. Is it poss that it could be getting a vapor lock? Thanks Bob , by the way this is for the 91 indy 500.
