Explanation is needed.

Hello guys! Could you help a bit? I'm a translator and I'm translating a snowmobile manual from English into Russian for my friend (he cannot use his US manufactured snowmobile until the manual and safety rules are translated into Russian), but I cannot find the translation for "hi-fax" Could you explain the meaning of this word and give a definition, plaese? Another problem is "traction products" - what is ment under this?

Ivan - the Hy-Fax are the plastic slides that run along the bottom of the rear suspension rails in which the track slides on. They usually have to be replaced every so often due to wear.

Traction products are metal studs (spikes) they attach to the track in order to get better traction. Also Carbide wear rods that go under the front of the skis also aid in traction for cornering.
