my first 80 miles on a 4-stroke

Well I did it. Got to drive my 05 RX-1. Until now I never knew much about 4-STROKS. I do now, and so far I love them. It's showroom stock with out even studs. The sled ran great, with no problems. The only, thing I dont like is it feels tippy in tight turns. I hope I can adjust some of the ski lift out of it over time. The good thing is thats the only sore spot on this sled so far...The permance was great. After I add a air kit, studs, and a CPR clutch kit it should be even more fun to drive. I got to hit a lot of 1-2 foot snow drifts at 30 to 70 mph, and it took them just as good as my VIPER did. The new rear skid feels a lot smoother. {I will find that out up to our cabin as the winter takes hold} The weight transfer on the 05 RX-1 is a big improvement, it makes the sled a lot more fun to drive. It runs very smooth and it gives you a feeling of confidence...NOW to the weight, in hard pack and wet heavy snow {I cant speak for deep powder} I cant even put in to words how light the 05 feels. To all of you 2-STROKE guys that think they are heavy to drive, all I can say is drive a 05 and that will put a end to the weight thing...Today I had to work, but some of the guys came over to drag race 700 ft on our strip in back of my home. They all have them well set up with some mods and studs. 700 to 800 cc. Ther was 1 T-CAT but his motor went, so he is looking for a new motor. I cald my brother and ask him to take my sled out and see what happens. {he is 20 lbs lighter then me} He took my sled no studs, no clutch kit, no air mods, completely stock and the most he lost by was 1 sled length. Some times he was first. I think my sled surprised a lot of them. 'including me'. I can tell you, at this point Im a very happy man with my new 4-STROKE....A big thank you to my brother for running my sled for me today...Gary.

I to just bought a 05 RX1 and cant waite for snow!! My last sled was a 2002 skidoo mxzx 800. Hope rx1 tops the 800? looking through the owners manual you are not to run it over 6000 rpms for the first 100 miles. racing any new sled out of the box cant be good? as temting as it is i hope i can hold back for the proper brakin.

I had it over 6000 rpm in the first 5 miles. The thing is, not to hold it at 1 speed for very long. By 50 miles I was up to 100 mph by the speedo but, I always let it go right back down. At this point I still have not ran it at 1 speed very long. When I get about 300 miles on it, I will start to hold it at 1 speed on long runs. I have no problem going w.o.t. up to 700 ft, and then let it go right back down. Judging by the looks on my 2-stroke friends faces to day I think Im doing a pretty good job on the brake-in...

If some one other then N.S., would ask about my break-in experience then, I could answer the question. If not then I cant reply...

that tippy ski lift in tight corners is the only reason i opted out of a vector or rx1.hope they can solve that over next couple of seasons.bought an 04 viper instead.
