Any picks for the EPT?

Postby AHF928 » January 24th, 2008, 5:12 am

There were some picks on the Coreys top 10 thread.

It should be interesting. A lot of teams wih new untested setups, some entire new sleds.

The favorites based soley on LAST year would have to be Jean Lesieur, Mike Emerson and Jason Lavallee.

Thats being said with JV injured all of the remaining teams have beaten each other on various weekends so it really is anybodys ball game.

Jason Smiths machine will be the mystery, he can drive, but rumor has it the sled is not quite up to the job yet.

Mike Platt has a Wahl sled ready with Rotax power and so does Lavallee. Scroggs has a motor from this decade so he will improve.

Tony Pettinelli will be better than last year, but what about Larry Day driving Mark Meyers machine. Can he figure it out on one day and be a factor?

It will be fun to see who is on the Adirondack Cup Sunday night.

We be in town 9 or so Friday night, see everyone at the hotel!!

I'm going out on a limb here............
I think a rotax powered sled will be in the top three.
Good luck this weekend to all drivers, be fast & safe!

With the lack of experienced drivers in this group the only thing that will keep Larry off the podium is a DNF. My guess for top 3 is: Day, Emerson, Platt

Word has it that Lesieur may be still too sore to put out 100%. Larry day will have the most experience but the sled may not be up to his abilities and he may be out handled and or powered. Platt shows signs of speedwhen out front. There may be another well experienced driver that will give Larry more than he can handle and he has lots of seat time on that sled. Mystery driver #1 Larry #2 Mike Emerson#3
Yes John there is a whole new crop of champ drivers with good equipment that just need some seat time to get to the front. With Jacques out Jean hurting and me retired the points chase is wide open!
