Do you think Dealers are making any $$ (profits)?

My rule is that when a salesman tells me that he isn't making any money on the deal, then I stop the dealing and end right there. I tell him that I don't want to do a sale with him that he is going to lose money on, and then walk away. Amazing the response it gets. Simple rule of thumb. If the deale...

Fireworks (the big ones)

Last Wednesday morning there was ain interesting item in the Chicago paper from one of the suburbs. Seems that a guy had a nice 6" commercial mortar type fireworks, and after drinking an admitted 10 beers, he decided to light it off. Unfortunately, he was in the living room at the time. He's expecte...

OT: USS REAGAN PASSING THE ARIZONA MEMORIAL

Lived onboard her sisters for a goodly part of 20 years. Commissioning crew on the Eisenhower, stationed there twice over the years. Did some time on the Nimitz, and retired off of the Carl Vinson. Crash and salvage crew, working on the flight deck. Reenlisted the first time early one morning out on...

track options for Vmax

You can fit a 1.25" track under there with no problems if it is an unstudded track. Beyond that height, you are looking at clearance problems with the tunnel interior. If you go studded, then about 1 inch is the limit to leave clearance for the studs and tunnel protectors. Your stock track on that i...

NEED HELP WITH DRIVEBELT!!!!!

Dug out an old manual that has a section on Moto Ski's in it. It lookd likr they don't do it off center to center distance, but instead they go from the outside edge of one sheave to the other at their closest contact point. For every Moto Ski except the Spirit 250 and the Grand Prix Special, the ma...

Clutching adjustments for mountain riding

Check with the Polaris guy's at Snowest or Indy Dan's snowmobile forum sites. They are all mountain riders. And where you are in BC, almost any dealer should have a decent setup.

NEED HELP WITH DRIVEBELT!!!!!

I highly doubt anyone other than an old Moto Ski dealer might have the specific gauge used to set the clutches straight and set the center to center distance. If you can get a straight edge of some type in there alongside the driven clutch (Chaincase side), then maybe you can do some measuring and s...

Changing sled belt

You might take a look over at www.totallyamaha.com. I believe there is a section on changing the belt that shows a picture of it being done in the tech tips section.

BOYCOTT TOM'S CYCLE IN ST. JOHNS MICHIGAN

About 3 years ago, there was a huge fire that destroyed Nelson's Speed Shop in Greenville, Mich, a very major dealership. Arson was obvious, but no one was caught for it. They moved into semi trailers and snowmobile trailers until they could get a temp place, and have since then rebuilt. Just recent...
