Question for xp owners

It is finally true, it's on www.ski-doo.com under recalls. It's a safety recall, so you should not operate the sled until the recall is done. It's # 2009-1. You should be getting a letter shortly.

I haven't received mine yet.

Collett Communicators

Yes, they are voice activated. They come programmed with 2 channels. One of them is a common channel that every other Collett 900 uses, and the other is a "club" channel, or other private channel that you can use to keep your conversations more private if you care. The range on them is not that grea...

rev xp

I happen to know a few guys that work for Ski-Doo, and they were at the 2008 preview show, and their exact words were "we didn't experience any problems on the demo rides that we already didn't know about". Their engineering department already done some re-designing, and those revised sleds are alre...

rev xp

Of course they are going to have problems with the prototypes. Invite the general public to ride sleds, and stuff is going to break. I did make it to one of the demo rides. Awesome program. I signed a couple papers and was given a 800cc Rev XP-X and a credit card for gas. Sled had 14,000 miles on it...

Yamaha srx or Ski-Doo Mach 1

The crank problems they are talking about were in the 1997 and 1998 triple 700's. They fixed the problem in 1999-up. Anyways, if you are strictly going lake racing, it's kind of a toss up. The SRX is a little lighter than the Mach 1. SRX's top speed is higher, the Mach accelerates faster (at least t...

Performance mods for 1996 Arctic Cat ZR580

You should have purchased something with more power, then. Unless your sled happens to have low miles, or a recent rebuild. That sled is 11 years old now. Best thing to do would be to clean the clutches and replace anything worn. At least a new set of springs put in them (should be done every year, ...

Southwest Mich

Basically nothing happened south of Grand Rapids. Allegan area got mostly an ice storm, and about 2" of snow, not much of anything. GR area has probably 2-4" of snow on the ground. White Cloud has about 5". Baldwin/Irons has about 8". Supposed to get a decent amount more over the next couple days.

carbide choice

I still have had the exact OPPOSITE experience regarding clipped/fully clipped tracks. Friend of mine has same track as I, but his is fully clipped. Both of us with OEM hyfax on our sleds, riding down the trails in lower MI, marginal snow conditions, and he melts his hyfax. Where mine stay cool. He'...

carbide choice

I've had the exact opposite experience. With a fully clipped track, I would wear out a set of hyfax in less than 1000 miles. With my clipped every third, I can EASILY get 3000 miles out of a set of hyfax. I'm running hyperfax teflon slides on mine right now, and have about 1000 miles on them, and th...

Ultimate Flow Optimizer

Everyone I know that tried UFO's was suddenly looking for a top end rebuild about 2 weeks later. However, I do know a couple guys that run them on their 583's and 670's with excellent results. The secret is buying them from someone who knows how to get them dialed in, and bring your sled to them and...
