Polaris 440TX carb settings

Does anyone know what the cutaway and needle is supposed to be for a TX440. It has twin 34mm Mikunis with a 280 main and a 30 idle. Any help would be appreciated.

79 Skidoo 340 AC bogs when warm

Incorrect Jetting. Did you rejet it or has it been rejetted at any point. If so, rejet it when it is warm to get it to run good. Just use the choke when it is cold.

1978 kawasaki sno-jet 440 Top speed?

I have a 292TNT that will top out at about 40 on a good hoard crust of snow. It has the new ones beat in the fact that I can go for 10 hours at least between gas stops and that I can go through very narrow spaces without a problem. That is with a messed up muffler(leaks out more exhaust than it dire...

carb settings - help!

your fuel shutoff needle isn't closing. Check the that the floats are free and that they will float. also you ight need to replace the fuel needle and seat. That hole is the vent to the float bowls. the new ones have a vent hose that you connect to the airbox in order to get a 'true' reading of the ...

carb settings - help!

I have a 1972 295TNT(single cylinder) that its settings are 1 and a half turns for idle and three quarter of a turn for high speed. Just be sure that the timing is correct first and that you have good compression. Either of those two will throw off the adjustments if they aren't good.

Need some help with my carbs

I just got a Polaris TX440 free air. The carbs are missing the slides. Does anyone know what the correct throttle cutaway should be. The main jet is a 280. I have found someplace to buy the slides. I really need some help soon before my dad decides to ditch the sled on me. He already had me get rid ...

One Helluva question

I agree to it all. I am only 18 and I prefer the vintage machines, even with the chance to ride a new one. I have oned three so far, 2 still run. I know they won't keep up, but you don't need to go fast to have fun out there. It's the ones who go too fast that usually end up getting hurt. Anyone out...

Enticers Rule?

Thanks. All that I have ever owned as far as snowmobiles go is Vintage. My current project is a Polaris 440 with a slide suspension. I don't know the year, but I'm pretty sure that it is a TX. I can't wait to ride it, just needs some slides for the carbs.

pre-mix

Probably 1 quart of oil for every 5 gallons of good quality gas(I ride a Skidoo but at that time the bearings were all about the same as far as oil requirements went.)

Need Some Help

The numbers that I have been able to find on the carburetor are 34T over 05 and T65. Also would you want the carb stack or just some money?
