Reed cage.... Homebrew style.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yea unfortunatly due to the rules, they clamp you on what kind of mods your allowed to run. You can't be F/A or Liquid, you can't have stingers, no sleds with different brands of engines, no slides unless it was specific to that model, your allowed to ...

'75 Snowjet 440
I was out on a poker derby on Sunday with the Snowjet and we got about 2 miles into the trip when the motor started knocking. I sat there thinking this thing is going to blow when it finally did quit. We pulled quite a few times and got it going a couple of times but only for 20...

Reed cage.... Homebrew style.
Well here's the thing, its going to be entered into 100 mile single cylinder races. So its going to be spending most of its time at high rpm, launching from dead starts, and pulling around curves. The motor is a big old single Hirth 200R 372cc.
yeah im not sure it might ...

Reed cage.... Homebrew style.
Budget is just one of those things. This is the discovery process, then I save the coin, and then I build the engine. This engine is a pure piston port engine. I have the jug modified but I'd rather reduce the amount of bottom end loss from having the intake chopped open. Might ...

Reed cage.... Homebrew style.

its possible to do what your talking about but its a compromise compared to a dedicated reed valve design. you dont want a big box that bolted onto the carb flange you have to try and integrate the reed into the flange with out adding to much length to the intake. too much length adds a ton of case ...
