Shortest way to Beausejour from Western NY

Whats the fastest way to get from Buffalo NY to Beasejour? Mapquest shows a route through the lower states, but is there a faster way through Onario, Mich. Wisconsin or over the top all in Canada?

The computer tells me 25 hours each way from here... :(

From my place here Augie (about 20 minutes from Eganville) it is 13 or 14 hours to Thunderbay Ont. I would think you'll be faster coming across the border and heading above the lakes. Are you heading out with just the Champer? If you are, let me know and if you want some help with the gas money, I might be able to help you out if I could throw my sled in with yours. I wasn't planning on going, but I'm sure I could hustle things together in time.

Auggie,

We would go through the NY turnpike cross over the falls and stay on 90 west to Minneapolis then 94 west to 29 north. 32Hours from NH

I have also gone the route of through ont. to detroit then up 75 to the Sault St. Marie then west on 2 past Eagle River through Duluth to Thief River Falls to 29 North. 37hours from NH

I like these routes because if something happened on the road, my Frenglish was not that understandable.

I think Wahls like the Canadian route all the way. I am not sure though. The big thing is the weather for the trip. If you have a hint of snow I like to stay in USA and as low as possible.

Buffalo is about 7-8 hrs from NH

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of going strictly as a spectator. My driver is inot the weeks just before final exams at college and can't go. It all depends on my work schedule. It looks like the real trip would be more like 33 hours each way if its 30 from NH. We are 5 from Buffalo, so maybe I won't do it this year.

Pip, you going to make any races this year? You're always welcome at our place. The new trailer has no lettering on the sides but his name and logo are on the back. You can check the logo at www.728racing.com

We'll be selling T shirts this year so stop by!!!!!

For me its a 10 minute trip to the airport, then a 2 hour flight to Winnipeg!:B
Seriously the Canadian route is 24 hours from Ottawa.
A word of advise! When you hit North Bay take Hwy 11 through Hearst. Its exactly the same distance and a lot less hilly. plus there are 24 hour Husky gas stations open every 250 miles or so. I ran out of gas a couple of times in the middle of the night driving the southern route.

Considering cost of driving that far, perhaps it would be cost effective to fly and rent something to get around in while there. A lot shorter if you can put up with the hassles of flying in this day and age.

Why not go across Ontario on 17 to the Soo then across MI, WI & MN? A lot more civilisation to pass thru than 11 & 17 north along the lake.

Besides, 17 has already been closed this fall due to snow in the Wawa area.

Don't worry about lack of French in Ontario.
