Champ 440: Combined Weight Rule-or not?

Doesn't Dave Wahl get one vote, just like the rest of us?

It's obvious that a majority are against it. If it were to be passed, would it benefit the sport as a whole? I don't know the answer to that question, but it seems to me that the fast will get faster and the slow are being slowed down.

Say I build/buy a new sled for next year and it weighs 350lbs.

Put a races worth fuel and slide lube and fill the antifreeze and it weighs 370.

Coming off the race track with all the snow and ice stuck to it it weighs 375. (I'm being conservative here)

Now, I weigh 150. the #28 told me he was weighed with all his gear on and it ends up being about 20. Now I weigh 170.

Me=170
Sled=375

Total=545

Isn't that what they are proposing?

The only person smaller then Me is Jacque and maybe Shane Peterson.

Just some food for thought.

Hi Chris

no Dave does not get a vote, i don't get a vote, only people that get a vote is any one full year organization with ISR. ISR does not vote either. so WALLY PRO ICE, USSA JERRY K, MIRA, MARCLE SCM, OSRF, TONY PETTINELL PRO & TODD FROM EAGLE RIVER. even if one group comes in with 5 guys they only get one vote.

I'm talking about at our respective drivers meetings. Each person has an informal vote to give their race directors for the ISR meeting.

It looks like MIRA's champ racers want the new combined weight rule.

Terry,

There isn't any reason for you to get so excited about this...I know Jerry did and is doing a lot of work about this topic. But, I love how both of you now keep bringing up Dave Wahl's name on how he wanted this and that. Dave Wahl is one person, who's opinion means quite a bit to the sport, but you know what? He probably won't be at any USSA races other then ER. So why does it matter so much if he is for it? So don't use him as a cop out. Whatever happens at the ISR meeting happens, Associations still have the right to not instill an ISR rule, right or wrong? All I know from past experience is MORE MONKEYING AROUND=LESS DRIVER INTEREST.

My point on Champ is that you have to have entries to run a class right??? Three entries at the least, correct?

The claim that it started in the east...from who specifically? Maybe its time for us to clean house if they are following an agenda the members are not behind.

There was no discussion of combined weights until Eganville this year where every sled was weighed and then re weighed with driver aboard.
