John.. Check out the brake rotor and caliper and pads used on the XP Skidoos . The rotor mounts on the drive axle and the lever pull feels the same as if mounted on a jackshaft which would indiicate they stop very well..... They work great even when wet and would stay cool ... I think they would work great in your application and stay consistent without heat induced fade ... mike

Thanks for the quick info, what I really need is for someone to give me actual measurements of dia. and thickness then once we find a few that would work we can narrow it down according to cost. John H

John, some links that may help

http://host0114.csmhosting.com/IW_Products.m4p.pvx?;MULTI_ITEM_SUBMIT

These we use alot, The 7 1/8 x 3/16 will stop a 380# kart on super speedways from well over 100 without a problem. The 6 in we use on short oval dirt tracks but max speed there is often only 55

Here is a link to the master page for brakes;

They have both larger dia and thicker, including center vented disc's. I have someof these on shifter karts but honestly don't think they are any better, only weigh more

The last 4 bar chassis(SX600,700,500XTC,600XTC)from Yamaha 1997-2002 has a vented rotor that is just a hair over 8 inches in dia. and .390 thick...there are alot of those sleds out there.

Sorry about the misleading link to the Outlaw 600 website.

It's www.outlaw600.com. I probably should have include the www part =-). Also www.outlaw-600.com and www.outlaw600.net will also work.
