As It states Im putting togeather a F-500 and to just get my feet wet Im looking for some used parts rather then buyin all new. looking for a used 9812R track in good shape. Also a set of Wahl Bros champ skis. And last a Wahl Bros polaris Champ hood. wouldnt mind and edge style one or the new one, crack or flaws aren't a bad thing if I can get it for the right price. As stated above looking to give this a try with out investing a ton. Dont make it on the forums much with work I stay pretty busy so can email me at xcr_racing@hotmail.com

9997R - should be able to get one from tracks usa for around $600. I know some have tried running a stock track, but they will tend to derail without big RH clips installed.

I believe the only limitations on the track are that it is 15 x 121 min .5 lug height. It is highly recomended that you use the tall clips and an R rated track

Yes, a 9997R is legal and I would highly suggest it.

Considering building a F500, is this class from a competion level still what it was intended "newbie", or has it now graduated to a very high level? I'm hearing conflicting reports on this, people close to the champ 440 circle tell me it's now very fast and high skill level.

The sport class is still very easy to get into and do well...It will take more work to be fast in the semi-pro and pro levels, but thats what the class steps are meant to do. Although I do think they will have to start pushing certain guys up to the Pro only ranks to open up the semipro class for newer guys

Don't kid yourself, trying to jump in and run with the fastest F-500 guys is tough, but the number of new racers still building sleds and entering the sport is a testament to the fact that it is working as it should
