Bonjour from Roberval.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday there was a half a foot of standing water on the track. The track crew worked through the day and evening to drain the water and salvage the track before the cold set in. Overnight the temperature dropped with a flash freeze and today the track is smooth and hard. PRACTICE TODAY WAS CANCELLEd to allow the track to fully freeze throuh. It looks like it will be an epic battle between the crowd favorite, JV and the hard charging and super fast Nick Lagoy. Not to be left out is the very powerful sled of Philipe Roy Lalonde and the new rising star Cole McMichael on the Weatherill sled. Also the last years semi pro champ Curtis Weatherdon is now healed up and itching to repeat last years podium finish. The outlaw sleds from New Hampsure Tim and AJ are here to challenge the sled of Ian Hodgeson from Pembroke. A full field of F500 and a large contingent of vintage sleds fill the pits. Lots of activity with everyone tweaking their equipment to prepare for tomorrows full card of racing. There are two full days of heats and finals scheduled. This is the last kick at the can. And the legendary Roberval Saturday Night tailgate party. I will try to post results as they happen.
Salute!! HG:C

Heard that Lagoy won, with a close race for second between Larry Day and Philipe Roy Lalonde. Jacques apparently crashed and broke some bones, but it sounds like he started the final and pulled off for points.

I'm sure Howie will share more.

It was a picture perfect day for racing and Nick Lagoy pulled off a perfect weekend winning every heat and final he entered. That gave him maximum points and with Jacques out on Sunday with an injury it gave him just enough points to win the EPT Pro Champ Season Points Championship. Second place in the final went to a hard charging Larry Day but he just couldnt match the straightaway speed of Nick. Third went to Curtis Weatherdon after catching and passing Philipe Roy Lalonde late in the race. Philipe had a bobble after hitting a big rut in the ice and that allowed Weatherdon to pass. Fifth and sixth went to the LaVallee brothers.
Hibbard again showed his talent at drifting the outlaw sled and won both finals by a full straightaway. AJ Hooper and Ian Hodgson had a good battle for second with AJ taking second both days.

Sabrina Blanchette had a strong second place in the semi Pro Champ class behind Philipe. She is the "real deal" and beat several seasoned champ drivers. Cole Mc Michael finished in third.

It was good to see all of you again. I only wish I got to race the whole season aboard my champ, now I know what the real deal is like. Looking forward to hitting the gas when the first green flag of next season drops.

No Claude, lol

It's still sitting in the trailer with a Seized up, junk Engine, from the last race.
Didn't want to come and just be a spectator.

But with this weather we are having here in Sarnia, it might be time to get the Seadoo out !! Calling for over 70 here this weekend.
