How many racers run a p85 quick change clutch on their formula 500 sleds?

Must be stock primary P-85. Specifically says NO QUICK CHANGE allowed. Any commercially available secondary.

There is no specific mention of quick change clutch's. If you read the ISR rules you can form your own opinion.

So I'm not exactly sure what the new ISR rules for this year state, but this is right off the EPT website and I know I voted for it after the first year of the class here in the East when the EPT rules were the ones to go by. When did this change???

1. Drive clutch must be P-85 Polaris.
2. Any commercially available driven clutch and internal components allowed.
3. Clutches and components may be modified. (The use of a quick change P-85 Polaris drive clutch
is not allowed).
4. Chain case and track shaft must remain stock and in stock location; no modifications or lightening allowed. Chain and sprocket ratio may be changed. Belt drive system is not allowed.

Now don't get me wrong, I do think the quick changes should be allowed.

I have never seen a quick change on any F500.

that is not wriiten or ever voted on at the ISR rules meeting "(The use of a quick change P-85 Polaris drive clutch is not allowed).".
The part that says "may be Modifed" allows it.

The part that says (use of P85 quick change not allowed) is in the PVR rules, not in the ISR rule book, as I read it...

It says that a Clutches and components may be modified. by using a p-85 and making it into a quick change you modified a p-85 clutch. you can not take a comet clutch and mod it, that is not legal.

So the PVR rules and the EPT rules specifically say its not allowed but the ISR rules don't say that? Hmmm that should make for some interesting tech discussions at the track.

I agree 100% that where it says the clutch can be modified means you can make it a QC. And I also think they should be legal as they don't offer any performance advantage.

Quite the pickle here now
