LOTSA TORQUE AND HP, SO WHY SLOW HOLE STARTS?

Postby treewhacker » July 24th, 2002, 3:15 pm

[URL]http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/sno/03rx-1mtnPerformance.html{/URL] Here's the link I tried to post earlier. I don't understand why, if the torque and power are this good, why did they get their buts kicked at Haydays? Does anyone have info on testing done by someone other than Yamaha? Could it be they haven't even gotten close on the clutches? Will Yamaha answer these questions when asked by customers? I would just like some answers and so far I haven't heard of anyone testing these #s other than Yamaha. I would like some official test #'s, not Joe the sledhead neihbor.

And last season Yamaha boasted the Viper with 128hp and being a bump champ... neither happened.

I think its probably the weight thing that will make it slow on the hole shot.

LOTSA TORQUE AND HP, SO WHY SLOW HOLE STARTS?

HEY... THE RX-1 HAS A REV LIMITER ON IT FOR THE FIRST 20 HOURS. IT WILL NOT REV ABOVE 8000 RPM AND THEREFORE IT CAN'T REACH THE TORC AND HP REQUIRED FOR DRAGS TILL THEN.

So SLEDHEAD
Does that mean that the Tcat and MXZ and the other heavy sleds will have slow hole shots too? I mean they're HEAVY too, right? AS HEAVY AS THE RX1!

Hole shots are slow, but 600 feet later you won't see any competition in front of you, because you will be in front.

Hey Treewacker, 7&800's? How about picking on someone your own size, compare it to the 900. You big bully! LOL

Sled Head
I meant the Mach Z. What's a triple triple? 9 Cylinder???
Snoticle
I wasn't picking on the 700s or 800s. I was just stating that if they weigh the same and have about the same power, why the hole shots are slow.
We gotta stick together guys, we're an endangered species, remember?
