I have a 99 zl 500. I put 340 main jets in and I need to know what to set the needle jet to, position wise sence the main jet is leaner than stock now.

Go to your local a/c dealer and order arctic cat performance manual, this will help you in more ways than you can think of. It has gearing, carb tuning, suspension tuning, assembly and teardown of an engine and much more. Hope this helps.

I have it on the top setting the leanest now is this to lean? or not? Havent had a chance to ride it yet this year no snow. Pistons are 75 big ones a peace dont need to be droping money there too. BTW the dealer will tell you factory specs for your sled for your altitude/temp. Start there, and remember to start rich, not lean. Plugs are cheaper than jugs.....

The needle was set in the center from factory. Put the clip in the second one down from top,or lean it one notch from factory. You can drop the main jet two sizes from factory without too much worry of meltdown, then check plugs from there.
