skidoo oil?

Postby mnsnowboy » January 17th, 2003, 12:44 pm

I don't know what the hell the problem is, I have owned Doos since I was old enough to ride one and I always use their oils with no problem! I don't know why I need to go buy that overpriced and overhyped Amsoil, not saying that it is bad, but this boy doesn't need it!

skidoo oil?

Postby sledhead96_583 » January 18th, 2003, 12:55 am

SKi-doo's mineral oil is made by castrol, so it has to be decent. I have ran that oil in my sled for the last two years and haven't had any problems with exhaust valves sticking etc.
Keep it between the trees!

skidoo oil?

Postby 97Mach1 » January 18th, 2003, 3:46 pm

1800 miles and counting on my 97 Mach 1 with Ski-Doo Formula XP-S oil. Refills using my old jugs at the dealer were only $15 per gallon (or you could buy quantities of 5 or more cases for $50 each), I used to buy quite a bit of it because of the sled and Sea-Doo (had a 97 SPX with 120 hours on it, without a single hiccup, checked the valves just before I sold it, and they were spotless). Rave valves just had their first cleaning, and they weren't too bad.

I am gonna switch to Klotz after I finish off the rest of my stock of doo oil. The doo oil is too expensive nowadays, plus there isn't a dealer nearby that's worth going to.

I think the people with the problems with the oil had some other problem than the oil.

Later, going to go out for a spin..

skidoo oil?

Ski-doo oil is good stuff. Not tryin to start anything, but the Polaris Synthetic oil is horrible, you're better off running any other sled oil in your sled than the poli synthetic. I'd suggest any other name brandsynthetic or non-synthetic oil over the Polaris stuff.
