I HAVE A 1988 INDY 650 AND THE STOCK OUT OF THE BOX HORSEPOWER IS 88HP. DONT IMAGINE AN 89 WOULD BE MUCH DIFFERENT. AND YES THEY ARE HEAVY.. I CANT TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT THEY WEIGH, BUT MY 88 GOES LIKE HELL WHEN THE TRACKS HOOKING UP.. AND IT HANDLES AWESOME.. DOESNT HANDLE LIKE MOST HEAVY SLEDS..

Got one! I would have guessed the h.p. to be a little more than 90, (maybe 95-100), but it would have been strictly a guess. Yea it's heavy. And i don't like the way it steers at low speeds through the woods. But the way it accelerates out of the turns, into long straights, is awesome. But that's the way I like to ride. Hammer it out of the turn and hard on the brakes into the next. And yes I've overshot alot of turns, cuz I don't know when to say when. Are you looking to buy one? or just buy one? just wondering!

i had an 88 indy 650 when i was 11. That sled was great. Of course the sled was only a couple years old then. Seemed fast and it looked good for its day. Should be a great sled for you.

A 650 for an 11 year old? I guess your parents had a big premium on your head huh? ;)

That really makes me feel better cause my 10 year old daughter started flying pappa's air plane this year. I guess she could start driving to the grocery store too, she is very mature for her age. What do you guys think?
