Polaris XC 700 SP questions (year 2000)

Postby Bug Eyed » February 4th, 2004, 6:07 pm

So as some of you might have noticed, I am in the market for a medium priced sled or two. I found a 2000 Polaris XC 700 which everyone says to buy at $2300, but it has 5000 miles on it, and that seems like a lot!

Will I be running into expensive problems soon or will I get 5000 more miles on it before I need significant repairs or overhauls?

Also I have seen a XC700SP (which says XC in yellow on the side, and further up it says 700) and a XC700 Aneversary edition (with a black top on the hood and says XC700 along the side of the hood) and both claim to be 2000 year model, any one know about that?

What is the top speed?

Any particular quirks or plusses to this sled?

I think I am gona buy it, just weary of the 5000 miles, and not sure if that similar one would be better (the one with the blqack hood, the "Aneversary edition") because it has only 3500 miles, but it would not be as easy to procure...

Thanks!

Polaris XC 700 SP questions (year 2000)

I have a 2000 700 xc 45'th aniversary edition I am trying to sell. The 45th aniversary sled has all the gadgets, like electric start, reverse, electronic rear suspension (which controlls the firmness of the rear shocks at the push of a button) heated grips, foot warmers. Mine has a new track, 96 studs, new twin pipes, boost bottle, pro clutch kit all kinds of extra's, including all of the stock parts, and dealers service manual, as well as clutch tools and what not. Sled just turned 2500 miles the other night, and runs mint. Also have a dial a jet kit on order for it, which will be included in sale. I bought a new rev, and wife says this one has to go. Am asking $4500, but like I said.... it has to go. Make an offer??? It is mostly red with black hood center, and red screen kit. Sleds can be shipped almost anywhere for under $500. Almost forgot... I have had this sled up to 117 mph on radar. A little faster than stock which I could get around 95 out of.

Polaris XC 700 SP questions (year 2000)

Postby snowballs » February 29th, 2004, 2:01 pm

My name is Adam I am from up-state NY. I own a 2000 XC SP 700 it is actually my first reliable sled. I have 3500 miles on it. There hasn't been a single problem with it. I run all season on the same plugs and never fouled one. This machine is awesome for trail riding if torque and speed is what you desire. I had it on a straightaway and decided to see what it has... At 2/3 throttle it was pushing 90MPH. just for kicks I punched the throttle, the front end came up and that's when I decided to slow it down a bit. The only complaint I have is that is not a good powder sled. IN the Tug Hill region we get more than enough snow and more often than not your breaking trails. This sled will dig a hole where it sits.

Polaris XC 700 SP questions (year 2000)

Have a 99 XC700, same motor and chassis as the 2000 i believe. The sled has 7600 miles on it and still runs strong. IT has vforce 2 reeds and a slp can. It will beat the newer 800s top end down the lake. I would definetly go for it for the price. Also check the track on the sled, thats the only thing we have had problems with.
GET ER DONE!!!
