Chain Case Oil

Postby XCR600SP » December 14th, 2004, 2:51 am

I have a 96 XCR 600 SP and want to replace the chain case oil but don't want to go to the dealer since it is not close. What type of oil and how much will I need? Will I be able to get the required oil at CT? Thanks for any and all info.

I use 15X40 synthetic engine oil. I've used it several years with good results--currently in two 1979 Ski Doo Blizzards and a 1997 Ski Doo 700 Grand touring.

85w-140 is spec for 05 Mxzx 440, but I've run 80/90 gear oil in the past with no problems.

I run Energy Release in my chaincase, the guy I get from has done a LOT of radar runs, and racing and he says he's seen close to 4 M.P.H. increases just by putting this stuff in..
