Thanks for the clarification on that Freez. I could have sworn my sled was a 93... Maybe it was a 92. **** it was so long ago! But when I look at your list, I know that you are right.

Keep in mind your XC-7 is most likely jetted 2 sizes fat which can have a significant difference. Stock my XC8 calls for 500's and I can easily go down to 470's in 0 degree and warmer temps. 2-3 jet sizes can make a significant difference.
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

Pol's jetting chart - is very very very conservative - overly safe. If you are familiar with reading plugs and wash, you'll be able to establish a baseline that will most likely be a few sizes leaner.

I wouldn't just do it and hope your safe. Be sure to keep an eye on the plugs - cardboard brown is perfect - if they get much lighter, its plenty lean and I wouldn't go any further. As long as they are cardboard brown or slightly lighter - you should not have any reliability issues. Much crisper bottom end as well.

So, can you tell us what motor your buddy has in his sled? Still interested in that.... Also, maybe you could post a picture of the sled and/or motor so we all can get an idea of what it is. Just curious is all.

will post a pick tomm the bdy and hood and chassis all look like a 93 670 on the hood but wait till ya hear this..............

the dang motor says 583,, owneres ships say 90,
the ski set and ride out side of the belly pan not like the older ones where the belly pan and hood were cut out for the suspension to ride up and down.

mind you the 04 xc is fast enough for me but i was surprised an old what i thought was a 670 would be faster............ you can imagine my surprise to find out i was wooped by a 583....
thanks for all your interesting replies.. will post a pick tomm..

Somehow, I don't think speed is a "Matter of Money" all of the time....and probably not in this story line either. The sled that RXR is describing seems interesting in that it is a '93 doo with a 583cc motor that gave him a run on his 04 XC700....

Sounds like the sled is a 90 mach 583 with a 93 mach hood. They fit easily. The 583 mach was very fast when tuned correctly. I know of at least one 583 mach that got 117 mph on radar in perfect conditions.
