WRECKED MY REV.!!!!!

Sat one one in the showroom, Black 800 did look alot better in person. But the first thing I thought was I bet I could tear one of those tie rods off With out too much problem. And the rear snow flap I just could not figure what they are trying to do with all these extra moving parts trying to come loose. Don't see the mechanical advantage to this design.

Other than running into the railroad bed and ripping my ski and a-arm off, the beaver tail may be ugly but it really does keep the snow dust down a little, and after 200 miles of riding in back of another rev (which is my girlfriends) I have to say that I didn't get belted in the helmet once with a huge ice chunk like normally from a regular flap snowmobile. You have to ride one to appreciate the way it handles the trail.

Thanks for the numbers salty, I can compare them to what people are spendin up here to get things fixed. We have bought new rods for our shocks, then we ended up with a good buddy who could make them at his work. Sometimes I think you can damage the eternal stuff even with a slight bend. I think even a slight bend can help to lose the charge in the shock faster as well. They'll know when they open it up. Not sure on what shops are chargin here for that stuff an work. We work on the barter/cash deals :)
Na i'm done with you, your to much of an ass for me!

Your on a need to know basis and since you never come out here you don't need to know....

Skunk, Could you find out how much it would be to replace the rod only, The guy that fixed the sled for me says that I have to get a whole new shock, I found 2 brand new ones on ebay for 315. Not bad since that's about the price for one down here in NY. I'm not sure what the 14 pop rivet's were for in the price. I was looking the sled over today in the garage and everything looks good. No bulkhead damage. Very small dent in upper a-arm and I want to replace the steering rod because it's kinda scratched up. I'm just a little anal about that stuff. I called about 5 ski-doo dealers that day and all the priced for the parts were comparable. 30 bucks for a ball joint is a little much if you ask me though. I think I'm gonna buy some spare's just incase it happenes again.

I've replaced many bent rods on Fox and Act shocks, its easy to do with the proper tools. I've rebuilt a few standard HPG shocks and everything is pretty much the same. As long as you can get the Rod, it can be replaced. Just call another dealer and ask.

Salt. Try giving my dealer here a call. Canadian prices and they can ship it to you. 1-807-274-6311 Talk to Daryl Begin (pronounced Beejin) Hope this helps. Best of luck with the REV. I know what you mean about the handling too. I tried one out at the dealer here and WOW! Now all we need is more snow here so I can try it out in some deeper stuff.

Thanks for the info. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what he recommends I do with the shock. Too bad I can't run the machine in reverse for 176 miles back to zero and bring it back to the dealer and tell them It came like that!
