opinions & help on used sleds... Cat or Doo...

Okay guys (and gals), here's the situation.
I'm trading in the three sleds that don't get any riding time (aside for the miles I put on them) so that I can be riding a nicer sled.
I've shopped around some, and narrowed it down to a few choices.
For starters, neither the Polaris nor the Yamaha dealerships had anything that interested me.
Other models that I found were:
'01 Formula 500 DLX, 3100mi, 4700$
'00 Formula 500, 2800mi, 4000$
'99 ZL600 EFI, (forgot mileage), 3300$
There's an '01 ZR and ZL 800, both for 5400$, but that's a bit too high, and too much sled for me, I think.
Or, I could also go new and get a Z570 SS for an even 5000$.

I figured the way to get the most honest opinions on these sleds would be to ask all of you trashers about them. I'm leaning towards the '01 Formula DLX, it seems to be in good shape and is the newest I can get without going brand new, EVEN THOUGH it means I'd be going with my second choice in brands (with Cat being my first, though we've had a Ski-doo for quite some time now, that's always been a decent sled).

So, what do you guys think?

If the cat has low miles go for it .You can't go wrong with the efi, especially if an 800 is too much for you.I rode a 98 zr 600 efi last yr and loved every mi of it!!

The best sled of the bunch is definitly the 2001 formula deluxe,my wife has one and she loves it,but these prices seem high for the mileage that is on them.I would go new if you can afford it.

i think these prices are all high too. i would check the traderonline.com or cycle-trader or papers or something. i think you could get a sled with alot less miles for your $4000

as for the sleds, i like the doo in the zx chassis, but the zr is a nice sled too. can't really go wrong.

Campy, I have a 2002 z570 and am very happy with it. It does have a lot of power & is just a comfortable ride. I decided not to go with the ss. Your paying for some high-tech suspension on a low model sled.

Well, we went over today to seal the deal. One 2001 Ski-Doo Formula Deluxe 500 in Silver Cloud for 4600, minus 2300 or so for a '93 Safari L and a '96 Jag.
A pretty good deal, I'd say. The ZL600 EFI had already sold, and the only other Cats they had were some '01 800s, and an older ZR700 that didn't really interest me.

We dropped off the two trade-ins this afternoon, and the new sled will be ready monday. You can garauntee that I'll be riding it by this time on monday.
