Roadrunner. 1.0Mbps right now (I just checked my connection speed, it is slower, but not much, during the day). I pay $44.95, which, is about equal to what I was paying for dial-up, that never got close to optimum available speed, if you were to include the cost of the second phone line. I will never go back to dial-up. Cable absolutely screams. I can upload 30 pictures in the same time it used to take to download one.Web sites appear almost immediately. That's nice when a lot of the race photography sites used to take forever to appear.

Yah, it is time to step up to Cable or something.

The new dial up I am speaking, I saw a commercial, it said, TRY OUR NEW DIAL UP, IT IS 8 TIMES FASTER THEN THE OLD VERSION. And I know it wasnt a cable situation.

a little bit of info on the dial up.... if you look at the rj11 plug that goes into the modem it has 4 wires inside.... only 2 of those are being used. there is a way to use all 4 but if you want it to work it has to be set up over at the phone company like that however it is more expensive... but get this it costs the phone company less to run it... so it costs them more to run people on slow speed and less on a faster speed... its kinda s**tty how there system is

$24.95 a month for dial-up.
$54.00 a month for high speed from the same provider.
$60.00 a month thru Dish-Network.

Got to do something different, this is just to slow.

I pay around $26 (can) ($19 US)for DSL, but there are two speeds of dsl here, and I have the slower. It is about half way between dial up and cable, but it has much better security than cable. With cable, you have to factor in the extra cost of maintaining a firewall.

Snotcicles... it depends how you look at it, if you have muliple comps like we do then it pays off(we have 4 rite now). our cable runs between 1.5 MBPS and 300 KPS, depending on whos on(in our house) and who is on as the local switch station(in general area)

mxz2k2 is talking about 128K ISDN its like running 2 modems at the same tme

SHR.. GO ALL OUT AND GET A OC-192 - 9.6 gigabits per second..... lol they cost.... one hell of a lot... somewhere around $750K/ month + 50K for installation.... lol
