Death in Wisconsin

Postby winter rules! » November 4th, 2003, 3:37 am

The person that got killed was a 24 yr old from Green Bay who was my brother-in-laws best friend/co-worker. Apparently it was early in the a.m. and he went streaming down a road into a "t"'d intersection. Sled hit a tree and he hit a guy wire from a pole. Alcohol was a contributing factor as well as not knowing the area he was riding. (Road riding is not the safest either).

High speed road running and alcohol is a bad mix! My neighbors boy who used to hang with my kids, went the same way 2 years ago. It takes enough concentration running down designated trails sober to stay out of trouble. I feel sorry for his family and friends.

Snowmobile Crash Kills Rider

A Green Bay man riding a snowmobile in Marinette County died in a crash Sunday morning.

Investigators say the accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Sandberg Road in the Town of Porterfield. The coroner said the snowmobile operator, 24-year-old Daniel Biernasz, lost control of the machine and ran into a tree.

It isn't clear why Biernasz was using the snowmobile on the snowless ground.

Deputies say speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
