I dont understand why cat cant come out with a 4-stroke non turbo. They have to put a turbo on to keep up with the rx-1 and if it can. Throw and a turbo on a rx-1 and there is no catching it. Oh and the
rx-1 before it came out on the market went over 145mph stock.
Why would they want too? I guess the if the day comes that the 4 strokes out sell the 2 strokes, one of the other three manufactures might consider slicing into Yamaha's huge market. Oh and 145mph?????Is that on the ever accurate Yami speedometer? That thing couldn't go 145 even being towed by a hemi powered pick-up.

They can. It would just be painfully slower.

145 mph? haha your an idiot. Not possible, Well unless with MAJOR gearing changes, and if that were to be changed the RX-1 would take miles to get up to speed.

I believe cat will either have two mid year releases or just one. But people will be impressed if it holds together. I've also heard either F-9 or F-8, a 1000cc 2-stroke in the zr chassis or a 1400cc 4-stroke. I would like to see all of them released. Also look for a smaller CC engine from Polaris in the IQ chassis.

And as for reliablity/updates Ski-doo know has one out. Throttle sticks on some rev's. Ha. Seems like they are even more safe.

I know that Cat makes a 700 that can outrun the competition's 800's, but now ya want a 660 turbo to keep up with a 998 eh? Than ya wanna brag about a turbo 998 being faster than a 660 turbo. Now that's just a little TOO MUCH advantage. Oh, and an RX-1 can turn a 145mph ehh? Ya, right!! And why is 175 hp out of a 900 sound so far fetched? 140 hp out of their 700 equates to 1hp per 5 cc. Same equation shows 180hp from a 900.

See Borgs last post on the "660 Turbo" thread---pretty much sums it up in black and white.
LOL, ya right. Ya ain't gonna get that kinda HP from a 900.

-sb
Actually ... Hooper Racing offers a "9.2" kit that developes 180 HP ..... although I do thing that 175 is optomistic from a "Stock" engine.
HP 175??? LMFAO, yah we will see.
Well ... Hooper offers an F-9.2 kit with 180HP ... although 175 might be optimistic for a stock trail sled ... It's already been done.
