4stroke engine vs 2stroke engine weight question

Postby NorthernSkunk » October 12th, 2006, 10:01 am

...when I think about runnin a 4 stroke engine compared to a 2 stroke engine I always am thinkin that the 4 stroke engine is a heavier engine than a 2 stroke engine(yes or no?)...I am pretty sure that I have read that a 4 stroke engine is indeed a heavier powerplant(how much? comparin say the F-10 to the apex engine?)...so then I think why would I want that extra weight hangin out over the skiis..it can't be good for handling......so how much heavier is the 4 stroke engine itself? jus askin
Na i'm done with you, your to much of an ass for me!

some amount of more pounds - whats the difference - the weight is likely up front on the cats from other parts - like exhaust and so on. The exhaust and silencer carries a lot of weight - all of that onthe Yams is under the rider and back.
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

Cause Yam went lightweight with just about everything else. I would be willing to bet the Yam Chassis is quite a bit lighter than the Poos and Doos. Not to mention titanium and magnesium lightweight parts in the drivetrain and so on.

4stroke engine vs 2stroke engine weight question

Had light sleds & heavy sleds. The heavier sled is way more stable & easier to handle at high speeds. Lighter sleds get squirrely & do not feel planted. Might wanna try hitting a gym to increase upper body strength?
