While browsing through my stack of sled mags i came across an article about the linked shocks on the new ss.I wonder how much diffence this will actually make in the sleds ride. Will it work the way they claim? How soon before someone brings out air ride, like on a big rig?
I'm not fast, your just slow.

The Cat SS suspension is basically a Polaris Fox PPS setup with the only major difference being that it regulates the suspension electronically vs mechanically like the Fox PPS.

Well, it's really alot different than polaris' unit. See, the CAT set up is what they call, Smart Suspension. This is due to the fact that a microprocessor makes all the adjustments automatically buy reading the motion of the shock shaft. It's almost like a terrain reading set-up sort of. The driver of the CAT has no worries what-so-ever but just to drive.
Now polaris' set-up relies upon the driver to make the inputs. Now, knowing how dumb a person has to be to ride a polaris, this is the kind of technology polaris builds into thier sleds.

No zrcat, it's the Cat people that are dumb, that's why they had to make a suspension that does everything by itself because cat people couldn't figure out how to adjust a suspension on their own. Plus now Cat can grab $400 of you money and laugh.

Ummm no! The PPS shock from Polaris is self contained and mechanical, the Cats adds another delicate electronic device to a machine that lives in snow, and often is sprayed with salt. In others words it (the cat unit) will be prone to failure. :) The electronically adjustable shock on the XCR800 is a completely different concept. Its more like a clicker.

uh, I do believe the adjustable shock on the XCR800 IS electronic. All I had to do was push an "electronic" button on my father-in-laws sled to change the dampening rate. Let me repeat, it's an electronic device not unlike the CAT set-up....Have fun trying to select the rate you are looking for when riding.....your thumb will never come off the switch........You boyz really aren't gonna sit there and tell me CAT SS is crap are you!!?? It's not the next resonable evolution of the suspension!!?? C'mon!!!!!!
