Check your trailer hitch!

You know this, I know this, but sometimes, we forget. For the past few nights I've been dragging a float that we built on my 4 place trailer around to several Halloween Parades for my Wife & Daughters 4-H club. Last night, one of the other fathers helped to hook up the trailer , and latched the coupler, safety chains, and trailer plug, while I was distracted by some other matter.........Short story long, I never bothered to check to make sure every thing was OK, and about a mile from my shop, the trailer parted company with the truck at about 55 mph. Thank God there was alot of crown in the road, because the chains snapped, the trailer headed to the right, rode the ditch a little ways, and hit a phone pole still easily going 50........Result? I no longer have a 4 place trailer....... Moral? No matter who latches the hitch, make sure you double check it yourself. Nobody takes care of your stuff as well as you do.

That would have been a good thing as long as he had Cats on the back!
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

Chit, I could win this!

Wow, So much for the parade.
I take it you were watching this thru your rear view mirror. That had to be something.
Had one come off, but nothing like that.

Yeah, it was quite a sight! Would have been pretty funny if it wasn't MY trailer! Didn't actually get to see it hit the phone pole though, it was alreadt pretty dark. Oh, and Dick, no insurance....... doesn't look like it'll be getting replaced real soon.
