ZRT600 with to much power "Help"

Postby Speed demon » November 30th, 2001, 8:36 am

My friend need help to bring down the power on his ZRT600. Someone told me to drill a 7/16" hole on top of all three cylinder. Is this the right thing to do?

I hope you are joking. You do not want to drill any holes anywhere in the engine. Do not touch you friend's sled. Who ever told you to drill holes in the engine, should have holes drill in their head!!!

not a clue, but drilling a 7/16 hole in the top of each of the cylinders doesn't sound like a very good idea.... wouldn't that just open them up completly and get metal all over and in the cylinder?? check the dealer or somthing but doesn't sound very good to me.......wouldn't you'd lose like half of your compression, sale value, and efficiency.............

Sure ya do.... It's called External Porting... Do it and let me know how it works for ya... Drill as many holes as you want... The more the better. Oh and for that extra reduction in power go ahead and pour some sugar in your gas. About 1/2 cup per gallon should do the trick...

BTW, JK....;)

Drilling holes in the top of the engine would destroy all the compression, all the coolant would leak out, Result no power, destroyed engine.

Lengthen the throttle cables---you could just disconnect the gas lines
