Laydown Engine Design- Because a lower center of gravity equals better handling, Arctic Cat engineers moved the carburators (or thottle bodys) and exhaust to the same side of the cylinder. This radical innovation allows the engine to "laydown" lower in the frame.Your choice: a carburated 500 or a 700 EFI engine.
The integrated tach & speedometer reads digital & analog. Push a button to change from digital to analog.
Both models available in black, green or red.

140hp... when dynoed by anyone other than cat will equal 130hp.

Laydown motor... rotate motor 30 degree's, then blow the whole concept of getting the motor lower for better C.G. by putting the pipe over up and over it.

Black, Green and Polaris Red???

LOL, couldn't resist!! In all honesty I've seen the '02 Sno Pro in person and up close so I can perfectly picture how those 2 sleds will look.

Hey Xtreme... last I checked, a pipe doesn't weigh as much as an engine...
Your point (that has been brought up several times) is moot, because an engine OBVIOUSLY weighs far more than a pipe. Gee, a thin-walled, hollow tube of metal, vs. a solid block of metal with two holes bored in the middle, which contain two other chunks of solid metal, plus a resivoir of coolant, spark plugs... etc...

You know what? They should flatten the engine completely so they can run the pipe right out the bottom! That way they'd lower the center of gravity SO MUCH, since that pipe has SO much weight...

A 140ish hp efi, 435lbs sno-pro chassis with the 13.5 track (it needs 1.375 lugs though) in red! Sounds pretty good to me.

There maybe a proX600 for sale this spring! ;)

Hmmm......Chrisfirecat? I can't wait for the demos in March!!!!!

Well Campy, how come you can shave off 10lbs by buying a aftermarket exhaust???

First off, the whole motor is not getting set down flat, it is only rotated 30 degree's. Buy rotating it 30 degree's puts the top of the motor down a wopping 2" from where it would be if it were setting conventionally. The portion of the motor that drops 2" is the head and the top 1/3 of the jugs, which would weight about 10-15lbs. Now they take a 10lb pipe and run it between 6-8" higher than it would be if it were along the side. Defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Now if you leave a sled stock this will not apply, but if you are a tuner or like to even lightly mod the sled the only way you can see piston wash is to take the pipe and manifold off because there is no way to see down the spark plug hole. You can normally take the exhaust valves out and look but with the Sno Pro having a new 3 way exhaust valve they won't be as easy to pull out. And I'm sure the new laydown motors will come with them.

Wooooo... Maybe I'm just patriotic but if that's the paint job... :)

That light... that much power...

I'd be willing to bet it'll beat the ZR 8.

FireCat? Back to the non-acronym names? I like!

Wooooo!
