Back in the 70's there was an Arctic Cat racer I think was called the Formula ll.It was a smaller race sled for the ovals. What was this sled about being so small and how did it do over-all in it's race class. I think it was a 340.

Yes there was. I think it was a 72 or 73, and it was a screamer. The original sled had a gear reducer for the final drive but they had a tendincey to blow up, so most just ran the clutch (hex clutch) only. The brake was also located on the driveshaft similar to the 2002 Sno-Pro. The hood was barly there and wasn't even required. It was very light and all aluminum. My neighbor used to have one and race it at Beausejour. It was unbeaten over the couple of relic races it raced with only the triple Ski-doo (don't know year or model) that would give it a run for its money. I should have bought it off him.
