Eagle River Predictions

Postby bub37 » January 9th, 2003, 4:06 pm

OK OVAL WARRIORS, Eagle Rivers World Championships are just over a week away, lets hear soom predictions for soom of the classes,
Stockers, Pro-Sprint, Champ ect.

Could be interesting with so many races being
canceled due to warm weather and no ice.
Some have little or no track time before the big one.

Only Beausejour and Roseau have run........

Eagle River Predictions

Postby ATV News moderator » January 10th, 2003, 5:54 pm

I'll bite on this one...let's see...this is always a tough one. Whoever picked Jocko is wacko. Just kidding. Jocko could become the first to win four ER titles. I'll shy away from him and put my money on a two-peat for Wanderscheid. He's coming off a Champ 440 win at the Xtreme Ice race in Roseau. He's been pretty strong all season, and barring a crash, could go all the way. Moulton, too, is looking superior. I say second for him. Sorry, Phil. You could prove me wrong, though. Ludwig has been in search of a championship for years. He could do it, but gremlins might continue to haunt him. I predict third. The Mike Houle racing teammates, Schmidt and Hortness, will finish fourth and fifth. The field gets a little muddy the deeper I go. As with any ER World Championship event, it's anybody's race. My picks are below.

Champ 440
1. Wanderscheid
2. Moulton
3. Ludwig
4. Jim Schmidt
5. Chris Hortness

Eagle River Predictions

Hmm????
There are too many hungry racers capable of winning to pick a clear favorite. I think Jacques will win the 600 open class but the Champ 440 will see the 3 Hooper sleds (but only two will finish),drive away from Ludwig , Jacques, Chris, and Terry (if he is healed up enough ). If the track deteriorates then Ludwig is my pic for 3rd. If the track stays relatively flat then Joco will be the final podium finisher.
Ludwig will just beat Bewcyck (sorry about the spelling Brian) in sprint.
Jason Looker will finish second to Dustin in Semi-pro Champ .
Have you noticed no predictions for Slo-cross,,,*who cares?*
