I installed the thinner base gasket and the trail heads (domes ) last night. I also installed the 11 gallon gas tank. For the rest of the story and pictures see link below:

I thought using a thinner base gasket would raise your compression, or are the other domes higher to keep the compression down?

I took the high compression domes out and installed the low compression domes. Therefore there is some room to safely drop the basegasket to bump the compression back up a little and still use pump gas 87 or higher octane.

Hey Paul,

Will that clear tank fit on a 03 800 REV-X. How much was the tank? If it will fit, then I would not have to worry about stpid gas guage.

I am not sure. I would take your seat off and see what it looks like under there. If the tank looks like the one in my picture I would say it is worth the try. Talk to your dealer.
