This week could really make things normal for the "hill"..

Presently snow total are: Barnes Cornors 4-5" and Boonville and Lyons Falls areas max 5" and Flat Rock 7" and best total would be
Hi Market 9-10"... Year to date snow fall at HIMarket is 87.7 received

Lake effect snows is forcast all week... today Tues. 1-2" and then tonight 5-10" depending on where the bands hit. Wed. 2-4" expected.
Thurs/Fri more expected.

The Temps in the Lowville area often match the tughill plateau. and might be a little colder- on the hill.... the abundance of water and the groomers opening it up could be a problem... these temps and the new snow would solve that... Wed hi 20 low 1
Thurs hi 10 low 9
Fri hi 9 low 8
Saturday hi26 low 21

ride safety...the death of a 40 year old ..leaving behind three kids
in a tragic loss...the news paper article describes the guy as a class father with involvement in church and civic organizations...

Not much new snow...HiMarket received 5" on Tuesday and less than inch Wed.
Today Thursday you'll find most of it beaten down flat and hard in most places up to 11" on the ground. Hi temp 10 today an dlow of minus 10 tonight... Friday more of 5-10 degress...fair conditions most places with all the traffic and 4-6 inches lots of places...
cold temps will hold the trails and riding with caution in cornors and ice is the best plan. If you haven't caught the new trail out of Boonville chek it out... the trail to tug hill from snow ridge now goes thru the last slope on the south ... heard its fun !!

The big races in Boonville Feb 2-3-4 will be something to see !! the track has 9-10 inches of ice on it already...

Saturday 50% chance of show and hi in the 20's... dress for the wind chill factor NATURALLY.. :)

be safe... loss a 16 year old boy last night at 1:30am riding on the canal trail system...... at least the lake effect is going south of the hill and will offer riding for people other that on Tug Hill...

Already this afternoon a 28 year old David Logo (?) was killed in a head on accident on GRAVES ROAD over by Flatrock Inn area of tughill
Lewis county sherriff dept report after the heads on impact the victum was was run over by a second sled...

The 18 year old last night was killed by Chitteanago roughly 50 miles sourh of the hill ...hit a bidge structure at 1:30am..riding the canal trail near that town.

If my news can influence one person to use caution... so be it...

BRRRRRRRRRRRR,,,,,,,,,cold -19 degree in Himarket at 4:30 this morning and that temp in Williamstown right now at 6am...

No new snow on the hill...groomers have all been busy anticipating lot of sleds... the lake effect bands moved south and Syracuse looks to get about 3" today.

Those of you that have frequented the HILLTOP on Spencer Road will find that spot open as of today and good luck to Susie and Dean the new owners.

The third fatalitiy corrected reported was a 25 yr old man from the Albany, NY area and the 38 years old from Camilus (new Suracuse) is critical- from the head on collison on Graves Rd (Martinburg are near Flat Rock).. the teen ager from a couple night ago did hit a concrete
wall around 1:30am and the media is all over the sport... sad news.
Take it and ride acordingly....please.

Wind chills could easily be dangerous... also.

Everyone have a safe/fun weeekend.

To elaborate some more. There was another person killed while pushing his broke down sled across the road and was hit by a SUV on Thurs. north of Syracuse. This would make 3 deaths in 1 day and 4 in less than a week. The fella that died as a result of the head-on was hit by his brother who from what is being said didn't have enough time to react/get out of the way. PLEASE, PLEASE take it easy and S-L-O-W down.

Lake effect off the hill... 12-18 inches
hitting Syracuse, Fulton,Utica and Oswego counties towns... not expected to reach Jefferson county and barely in Sandy Creek... southern Tug HIll should get some.

HighMarket has 11 inches and we need more overall trails would be
rated as Fair to Good in some places... and no doubt main corridors with lots of travels... getting beat.
