Trail conditions

Postby Skidawg » November 29th, 2001, 12:55 am

Can anyone tell me about the trail conditions in the Hurley, WI area? We are debating on going there for the opening day. (Dec 1st) The chamber of commerce says that they have 12 inches and will be opening the main trails. Will they be groomed? Is there enough snow, or are the trails all mud?

I have a place in Mercer and plan on going up tomorrow night also... After reading your post I called a friend of mine that lives up there and he said as of now theres about 10 inches left ( they had about 14"). He said they trails have a 50/50 chance of making it through the weekend. They are calling for more snow up there Saturday (1"-4")as of now.Take what we can get, even if it sucks it beats stayin' home wondering if it sucks? Peace.

Mercer was O.K at best. Don't get me wrong I had a blast (Sat.Dec.1). Sleddin' was great 'til around 4'ish. A few bigass puddles and loose gravel after that on the 17 Grade. Sunday got worse, but still fun. Not many people: lots of SkiDoos & Polaris, only a couple Cats and my lonely Yamaha. Peace.
