crankcase clearance?

Postby ZR800XC » July 6th, 2006, 2:47 pm

OK, OK...I need some input on a project, as my knowledge ends right here. I'm building a billet case for a 650 Kawi to possibly make a replica of Sam Sessions 75 PDC Kalamzoo Racer. ANYWAY, it's all done except the bearing surface for the crank. Given a bearing's size, what size do I need to bore the cases to in relationship to this size. My guess would be .001" to .003" under. Does anybody have a spec or an opinion on this. Maybe some of you machine shop boys? My buddy's doing it as a project at a shop he works at and he needs the spec to finish up. Thanks guys..

are there going to be anti-rotation pins on the bearings?

NO. No pins, no O-rings, just a plain bearing.

BILLET CASES SOUND COOL,, HOPE THE PROJECT WORKS WELL FOR YOU!!
IF IT SCARES YOU ITS ALMOST FAST ENOUGH!
Took advise from a genie in a bottle of JimBeam and she lied to me.
