Pro X 440 fan??

Postby Snosport » July 30th, 2004, 4:21 pm

Looking at picking up an 02 Pro X 440 fan cooled and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. Curious about perfomance, top speed, fuel economy, any potential problems, and any other comments anyone may have.

man get a artic cat fan why faster then polaris.. look and the I-500, speed runs and sno-cross resaults.. the cats are all faster.. I went trailer riding last winter with a 2002 Z sno-pro, an F-7, (2) F-5, a 2002 Rev 440, a ZRT 600 and a polaris 2002 fan cooled.. to tell you the truth no-one could keep up with the Z snopro. in the woods fast and light.. once we got to the lake the F-7 and the ZRT would catch him fast but the others still took the whole lake to catch the Z sno-pro.. very fast.. and the way home he got a ticket for 92 mph on the railroad bed. Cat fans are way better the Polaris fans for sure

I don`t care what brand fan [red]its gonna burn down[/red] if you run it hard.I would definetly look at a liquid instead .Reasons: Durability,Reliability,Performance.

Ski-dont - Are you running an aftermarket clutch kit (Goodwin,D&T,EPI, etc) or your own combination? How about gearing any changes there?

I have a 2003 Prox 440F and currently have just dropped mains and needles but am thinking I would like better clutching. I'd appreciate any info.

Nearly All of my sleds are Fan or Free-air, I ride them hard, and never had any burn down, except the 2 suzuki powered cats.

I rebuild 3-5 fan cooled motors every year.I have owned 2 ,both burnt down in year #3(with stock jetting).I rebuild 2-3 liquids every year and they have all been 700+ cc motors. Since over 80% of the people I know ride liquid cooled sleds the fans have a poor track record.
