The ZR 900 Proto I seen

Postby ZRFREAK » January 3rd, 2002, 12:06 pm

While sleddin around on a local lake I seen this
what appeared to be a 2002 black snopro. I decided
to waste the guy on my zr 8. Bad mistake, this thing blew by me like nothing. I followed the guy to an inclosed sled trailer and harrassed him until he let me in on it. It took a lot of bugging. When he opened the hood i almost peed my pants.( just kiddin) What it was unbeleiveable.
It was the 2003 ZR 900 proto, the engine has the same stance of the smaller 440 motor, but is black and says 900 on the heads. What was weird was it had stock twin pipes. He said because of all the weight they lost on the snopro chassis compared the AWS 5 they could add another pipe and still as light as the competions sleds. It also had EFI on it.Some of the differences between it and the snopro were that it had a normal 15 inch wide track, and normal act non cross linked shoxs. The seat though was style as the 2002 snopro. He only gave me a short look so
i couldnt get into the other new tech goodies.
Oh also it hads a digital tach and speedo. He wouldnt tell me how much HP. oh well

Im not BSing you. I live in whitehorse yukon.
We always have protos running around here. Because
there is less people here to snoop on them.
Back in the 97 season we had the new 98 ZR 500,
and 600 protos running around since mid December.
2 months before most people even seen the pictures
of them.

Makes you wish you carried that digital camera (or any camera for that matter) with ya on the sled eh?
Of course if you would've got caught snapping pics of that motor/sled you wouldn't have made it home to blab your find with the computer bunch.LOL.

How many times have I said this.....There IS going to be a ZR900!!! Also, the digital tach and speedo can change to analog display with just a push of a button. CAT gives you the choice. I like analog myself, do not like digital.
