My guess with all the yellow paint that's being sent to Mint Auto Body in Wpg. is that Robbie and the rest of the Boss riders will be on Ski-Doos next year.

Yamaha will return to snocross for the 2006-07 World Power Sports Association (WPSA) national series with a factory-supported effort competing in the Pro Open Class.

Yamaha has signed Boss Racing's Robbie Malinoski, 2006 WPSA Pro Stock and Pro Open champion, to pilot its Nytro-based, three-cylinder, four-stroke snocross Open Class sleds for this race season.

"We wanted a top-tier national driver to lead our testing program," said Yamaha Snowmobile Race Manager Greg Marier. "Robbie is a proven champion willing to take on the four-stroke challenge in snocross. That's exactly the attitude we wanted for the program. Our goals this year are simple: we want to prove our four-stroke sled has the performance to be competitive, and we will use our snocross experience to improve future Yamaha snowmobiles."

Also making a North American comeback is veteran racer and 2006 Japanese National Snocross Champion Yuji Nakazawa.

Both racers will work out of the Yamaha/Boss Racing trailer.

"We are aware of the hard work ahead," Marier said. "But Yamaha has the courage to take the four-stroke challenge to the highest level of snocross racing."
